Molave House

2015

Shaped like an H, the house is divided into a public and private wing connected by a massive double-height atrium. Surrounded by a series of wooden decks akin to the Japanese “engawa”, the interiors are encouraged by design to spill over into the outdoors. Dominated by white plastered walls and extensive glazing, the house’s enormous bulk is warmed by the use of wood planks in the floors, the ceilings, as well as the vertical sunshades in the façade. Driven primarily by a modern Japanese aesthetic and for perfection, this superlative house is designed for both maximum entertaining and maximum living.
