H1 House

2009 

The H1 is the physical embodiment of a diagram, an attempt at creating the basic model for an urban house.  To the left, stacked three stories up and one story down, are the private spaces of the house.  To the right, in one big multi-level space, is the public space.  The private spaces are cellular and separate, but all of them open directly onto the main public space, creating a machine for family life that simultaneously allows private retreat and communal congregation.
