Courtyard House

Pivoting around a half century old Duhat tree, the house frames two courtyards, one in front and one in the back.  The front courtyard mediates between the privacy of the home and public nature of the street.  The rear courtyard is raised high above the surrounding greenery and is framed by the two wings of the house.  The house itself is raised up on a half meter platform, with the service areas below and the living spaces above.  With two meter overhangs and high ceilings, the house is designed for tropical living in a modern setting.
