H2 House

2009 

Built alongside the H1, the H2 is a more introspective version of the H1.  Smaller and more private, it rotates the diagram of the H1 perpendicularly.  The open public space, which now includes the spiral stair, are arrayed in front as a layer that protects the cellular private spaces, which again, all overlook the main public space.  If the H1 is an extrovert’s house, the H2 is an introvert’s house.  Both are designed to foster both individual retreat and communal gathering.
